Google bought Android out in 2005 and, in 2007, developed the Android mobile phone operating system in collaboration with 33 other members of the "Open Handset Alliance". It has been officially available since October 2008 and ranks number one in the operating systems for mobile terminals - ahead, in fact, of the Apple operating system iOS.
